A Really Proud Mum!

Posted by: Sarah Short | Comments Comments Off

Today, I taught my daughter to ride a bike.  I am so proud of her.  It was a 10 minute job and she was whizzing around like a pro.  And it made me think…..

My daughter didn’t believe that she could ride the bike, although I knew that she would be able to, because she has an excellent sense of balance and she is fairly fearless!  The reason that she managed to ride so quickly is that she believed in my belief in her.  She trusts me and knew that if I said she could do it, I was probably right.

So, a lesson to be learned here, methinks:  If you are struggling with self belief, you need someone who knows you and believes in you and you need to borrow their belief in you until your belief in yourself catches up.

Interesting thought hey?

If you would really like to develop your own site, or blog (you are reading a blog if you were wondering what one is….), but you simply don’t know where to start and are totally technophonic, you should take look at this:

My friend and mentor, Christina Hills, just put out a new video where she shows how she learned to make websites in just 15 minutes using free WordPress software.

Go take a look here now…

It’s about the first website Christina made using WordPress was just a little less than 2 years ago for her daughter’s dance studio that was putting on
a local production of “The Nutcracker”.

It’s kind of a funny story about how she started using WordPress because Christina is known by many people in internet marketing as someone who
can take technology and teach it to any “technophobe” who wants to learn.

But I’m telling you too much. You really need to go watch her video now, and hear her story in her own words…

It is funny too….  always nice for a Wednesday :)

I am about to interview the wonderful Maritza Parra – The Product Creation Queen.  She is the 3rd of the internet gurus in my series of “Women Entrepreneurs” interviews.  So far, I have interviewed Nicole Dean and Christina Hills, both of whom are legends in their own fields.  Interestingly, when asked about how they would start now, if they had to start over, both of them said “with affiliate marketing”.  That is, making money online selling other people’s products.  Both now promote their own work at home programmes (programs for those of you from the US!) and both are highly successful and very good to learn new skills from.

I am really looking forward to interviewing Maritza as she is one of my personal mentors (her partner Jeff Herring being the other).  She is an exceptional teacher and gifted internet “queen”.  Am off to do the interview right now – wish me luck!

Make Money Online – 10 Buck Reports

Posted by: Sarah | Comments Comments Off

Morning!  Today’s job is to get my new “10 Buck Reports” page up and running.  I am writing a series of reports on how to make money online.  So far, I have written 3:

Emergency Cash – This report is for those who need to raise some cash TODAY!  In it, there are 18 ideas for raising money quickly – like in the next 24 hours.  Not every one of them is an online idea, but the majority are.

How To Work From Home – this report is about how to work from home.  It contains advice, hints and tips on everything from organisation to how to make your friends and family take your work seriously.  It is a must  if you want to be successful when working from home.

How to Make a Healthy Income Stream with eBay – this is probably not quite what you might expect.  This report explains how to make money from eBay:

  • without carrying stock
  • without having the expense of packaging materials
  • without having to worry about shipping costs
  • without having to pay for items you sell until you have sold them and been paid yourself

These reports are all worth $$ to you and they are the first 3 from a series I am writing, which will collectively be known as “The 10 Buck Reports”.  My thinking behind this is that at $10, every single stay-at-home-mother can afford to buy them and therefore make use of their contents without feeling guilty!

Watch this space, they will be here later today…

S.Thomas from Dorset has said “I have submitted an article – it is the first thing I have written since leaving school!”

I've Been Busy…

Posted by: Sarah | Comments (1)

Well, I have promised myself that I would post to you all more often this year, so, here is my second post of the year!  And it’s only Jan 2nd.  So far, so good.

I have spent this holiday period writing a report for you, called “How To Work From Home”.  It is full of helpful stuff, including a formula for working out what you would like to do and be good at, based on your hobbies and skills.  The report has a small fee of $10, because, just like you want to, I work from home!  Here is the link for the report:

I hope that you enjoy it, please do come back to my site and leave me your thoughts on it.  I’d be really grateful.

love Sarah

What does PLR mean for Pete's Sake?

Posted by: Sarah | Comments (1)

It’s so close to New Year’s Eve going out time and I decided that I would quickly post for you before I get changed and go out.  My kids are away overnight and so for the first time since I became a mother, I get to go out on New Year’s Eve – WOW!  It used to be my favourite night of the year – and I haven’t done it since 1994!!

Anyway – I digress.  I keep being asked about PLR – what does it stand for and what is it?

PLR is an acronym for Private Label Content.  What Private Label Content is, is a series of articles that you can purchase, which you can then use as if you have written them.  Purveyors of PLR sell you the right to publish these articles as your own.  In the main, PLR articles are frowned upon as what tends to happen is that thousands of people buy the same PLR articles and then try to submit them to sites as their own and obviously, the people who evaluate each article aren’t daft, when they see the same article repeatedly, they know it isn’t written by the author who submitted it!

Some PLR sites are very good though.  Here is one. The reason that this one is better than the majority is because they don’t sell unlimited copies of their articles.  They sell a finite number of each and they have a wide variety of topics.

So, now you know!

Happy New Year everyone.  Be safe and let’s hear it for 2010 – our year of ACTION!!!!

Here's to 2010

Posted by: Sarah | Comments Comments Off

Hello!  I hope that your Christmas was wonderful, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope that you have had a lovely week since last we spoke.

I am now bedding in for a year of helping you earn from home.  My first bit of assistance is for those of you who are already a bit tech-savvy;  scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will find a search engine for online jobs with a technical slant.  For those of you not so technical, but pretty good with the written word, it is worth you looking too – some of these jobs are for people to write articles etc and may well be appropriate.

Keep checking back because this blog is about to EXPLODE with work from home ideas, links and e-courses.  The first ecourse is going to be on affiliate marketing for total newbies (dummies) to technology.  Add your name to my list straight away, so you don’t miss out.

Make 2010 your year for working from home!
