Happy Easter! Ok, I’m a bit late, but the sentiment is still there. I hope that you all had a great time over the weekend and that the weather held out for you where ever you are.

I’m having a strange time this week. My children are with their father and so I am home alone mum. And it feels strange! The house is unusually quiet, I can eat what I like, when I like and I haven’t made a peanut butter sandwich for days! Also, the pen that I put on my desk is still there, I can see the sellotape and the house is tidy….

So, with all of this me-time, I started to think about working from home. I am currently researching a new online way of making an income and to date, the company has really impressed me. Not only did I get a call from them after I completed an online form, the guy I spoke to was polite, helpful and answered absolutely everything I asked. They arranged to call me back at 8:20pm a couple of days later and lo!, they did! I have decided to give this thing a proper try to see if I can make any money from it and I’ll report back to you as soon as I have finished my “scam detector tests”.

When I research to see if something is a scam, I rarely actually go as far as spending money on it – usually, the promise of my first millions within 48 hours is enough to send me running for the hills, however, this time I have. I haven’t spent a lot, just a little and I am intrigued with the business model. Anyway, I’ll keep you posted.

If you have found something that you think is interesting, but you just don’t know whether or not to pursue it, put the URL (website address) into a comment on my page and I will look at it for you. Not only will I post about it, I’ll email you personally with my findings.

Anyway, it’s a sunny day (rare in the UK!) and I want to get my milk-bottle white skin a shot of vitamin D, so I’m off now and I’ll post again soon.

Love Sarah

I just cannot work out how anyone can make money online from surveys. I have, on your behalf, wasted several pounds tonight (and over the last few days to be honest), joining various “online survey” companies. All were really well advertised, professional looking sites that wanted me to spend just a small amount to access their information. So I did. All gave me the same information I have already accessed, for free elsewhere online and not one of them had a viable way of making proper money online. I spent 40 minutes filling in a survey for which I was paid the grand sum of $0.17. Hmmmmm…..

So, unless someone can tell me otherwise, don’t believe anyone’s blog, or sales page etc because I am telling you for certain – there isn’t any money in it! I read a really convincing blog by the lovely Kelly, with loads of “grateful customer” comments on it, thanking Kelly for her fantastic advice and how they had earned upwards of £100 in a few hours filling in surveys. Well, they didn’t.

Sorry mums, but they just didn’t. Online Surveys are a SCAM!!!!!

Love
Sarah

ps – if you know otherwise, I would really love you to prove me wrong!!

A legitimate online business is the dream of all WAHMs. The problem is, we don’t know what is a good way to work online and what isn’t, and even if we did, we don’t know how to get started. If we did, we’d be doing it – wouldn’t we?

So, what things are possible online? What can we, as not really very technical people (sorry if you are, but I am addressing the majority here!) do online to earn money? Here are 5 ideas:

1 Writing If you like to write, you can write to earn money online. You can work as a freelancer, or you can affiliate market as a writer. Both of these can earn you an income.

2 Selling things on auction sites. The best known of these is eBay, but there are several others. You can either sell stuff that you no longer have a use for, or you can comb thrift/charity shops for bargains. All you need is a PC, internet access, a digital camera and you are away. There are some fees attached to using auction sites, but these are usually taken after the sale, so there is little, if any, outlay.

3 Affiliate Marketing. This involves promoting products for other people and receiving a commission for it. This can be very lucrative if done well as commission can be as high as 75% of the product cost. As the products are other people’s you have no worries about fulfilment of the order. In fact, often these products are downloadable anyway.

4 Write an eBook. Not as complicated as it sounds. eBooks that are non-fiction and self help or manuals tend to be the best sellers. So,if, for example, you know how to identify the “Lilac Crested Roller” and the “Pintailed Shryke”, write an eBook. I can promise you that there are other people who are just as interested in the birds of Southern Africa as you are!

5 Create your own website featuring something you are passionate about. Whatever it is that “lights your candle”, be it those colourful birds, or salsa dancing, or traditional Persian cooking, or whatever, there are people out there who would be interested. There are companies who can provide video tutorials and online help, so that even the “technically disadvantaged” can do it.

Sooner or later the Internet will become profitable. It’s an old story played before by canals, railroads and automobiles. ~Paul A. Samuelson

That quote is talking about right now. The internet is a profitable place to be.

The fear of being made to look or feel a fool is great. Someone once told me this and it is so true. No-one wants to be made to look and feel stupid, which is why, I think, so many people think that making a living online is impossible. They have clicked on a couple of links that have promised the earth in terms of income online, spent money (lots in some cases) and found themselves disappointed with what they have bought. Whatever it was that they hoped for, wasn’t what they got and they felt a fool.

The old adage “once bitten, twice shy” comes in to play here. Some of us literally do this only once and then think earning online is impossible. The more optimistic of us click and pay a few times more before we come to the same conclusion.

However, it is totally apparent that lots of people earn a living online, which in our case (us WAHMs – work at home mothers for the uninitiated) is the difference between being able to stay home and raise our own children, or having to pay someone else to do it. So, what do they do, these people who make a living online? Aha! The million dollar question…

Over the holiday period I have done two things:

One – written a report about How To Work From Home. If you want to, but don’t yet, or you do already, but it isn’t going as well as you hoped, you really need to read this report. Click this link:- How To Work From Home to get your own copy.

Two – I have written a course (I am a teacher of many years experience) for you which, over a period of 12 weeks, will identify 12 separate ways in which you can make money online. Each is a legitimate, non-scammy way of doing this. Sadly, not one is a get rich quick scheme, but hey, we all know there is no such thing, don’t we? I launch this course later today (just throwing a few last minute touches into it) and it contains the following:

Genuine, simple ways to start making money immediately. I will give these to you one a week, so by the end of 12 weeks, you will have 12 ideas.

Resources to get started. I find that, quite often, one of the most irritating things about online courses is that they are a bit vague when it comes to detail! Each week, I have a list of clickable resources that will take you to where you need to go for more information, or to get going.

Homework! I’m not going to check up on you (LOL) but I will, each week, give you tasks to do and research to undertake to show you that you CAN do this – you can work online. Obviously, you don’t have to do the homework, but you will benefit enormously from it if you do.

Bookmark my site and come back later today for the link to this comprehensive course.

love Sarah
